Those who are most powerful for God are those who are compelled to walk on the edge
of human failure that God might be all in all. However, before God puts us on that
edge, He prepares us for the task. This is precisely what God did with Jacob, and this

Many wives are neglected and even despised by their husbands. Sometimes, they are innocent of wrong doing. Sometimes, they have acted wrongly and not only bear a sense of reproach but also guilt. Yet something good happened to Leah in all of this, and something good can happen for you.
Jesus worked in memorable ways. Jesus spoke in memorable ways. Jesus raised up memorable men. Jesus brought into being memorable churches. Yet, Jesus did not specifically ask to be remembered by His miracles, His words, His disciples or the churches which He instituted. Do you know how Jesus specifically asked to be remembered? What are principles that guide your life? Jacob had to learn the hard way that God’s guiding principles had to be chiseled into his head and heart. The chiseling, as you may imagine, did not come instantaneously but required years of training and struggle. The amazing thing is not so much that Jacob stayed the course but that God stayed the course with him. If your life is a train-wreck, stay the course, and you will discover that God will stay the course with you to the end.
As many as the promises of God are, in Him they are yes; therefore through Him also is our Amen to the glory of God through us. Jacob made this discovery in the worst time of his life. So can you.
The darkness has always been present and will always be present in this world. So, how do we go at life though surrounded by darkness? Do we enter the realm of politics? Do we build bunkers deep below the surface of the earth and move in our families along with tons of supplies? So, how do we go at life though surrounded by darkness? The Psalmist answered that question, and the answer is as much needed today as, perhaps, any point in our lifetimes.

God will actually give you the desire or the inclination to put into action the things that please Him. In addition, God will actually give you the power to carry out or put into action the things that please Him. That is, God not only gives the inclination, He also gives the ability. Whatever God asks a person to do, He will also give the wherewithal to get it done. It doesn’t matter that it seems impossible or unreasonable, God supplies what He requires, and He does so without fail.
